FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • Facility Access & Information: Yes there will be access to the SLSFSC facility bathrooms, as well as access to Patsy’s Cafe and other areas of the facility. There will be sanitizer available at the entrance to the fields, at check in, and at the exit point of the fields, but feel free to bring your own.

  • Spectators: No spectators are permitted at this time as per AHS, Alberta Soccer, & the SLSFSC Facility Guidelines.

  • Foot Traffic Flow: Entrance for soccer programming will be through the north “Gymnasium/Turf” doors, and then turning immediately right to enter in behind the turf. The main hallway is designated as foot traffic for gymnasium user groups and gymnastics. Exit from your soccer program is out the south end of the turf past the washrooms around the turf and out the north “Gymnasium/Turf” doors.

  • Equipment? All shared equipment will be cleaned before and between sessions with a disinfectant solution. Each training group will have their own cohorted on field equipment. Personal goalie gloves must be brought from home and can not be shared. Goalie Gloves can be purchased at the field from the Club, $12.50. You may bring your own ball to the turf at this time.

  • Parented Sessions? HISTORICAL FROM OUTDOOR 2020 PROGRAMMING: All First Kicks are considered parented. We encourage ONE parent to commit to being with the child for all sessions, if you require rotating the role we need to make sure we have room in the 50 limit cohort for additional parents and each parent must have a waiver signed. You may have more then one athlete in the same session (example, twins or children close in age, please contact info@cochraneminorsoccer.ca for these cases so we can advise you on registration) The majority of the time the coaches will have your children independent on the field, but you must be ready to help out if needed. Although we love your kids we can’t pick them up or comfort them at this time as we’re used to.

  • Need flexibility with young children? HISTORICAL FROM OUTDOOR 2020 PROGRAMMING: We understand you may have siblings in tow with a parented program, or while spectating a younger child’s program. Siblings are allowed at the turf, but must remain distanced and/or masked and within the area behind the players benches. If they will be ON the turf (example in a baby carrier) then we will need a set of waivers for them as well as per AHS guidelines.

  • Can I change groups? HISTORICAL FROM OUTDOOR 2020 PROGRAMMING: If you want to change sport cohorts (within CMS or to a new sport) then a 14 day isolation period must take place between sport cohorts (Alberta Health Guideline) Please check with your other activities if they are considered a sport cohort.

  • Minor First Aid? Any first aid will be provided by a parent if present, or our coaches/admin staff will be expected to glove and mask up for any treatment. (see Canada Soccer Response Plan link)

  • My child has asthma/allergies, can they participate? YES! Please let the admin know of any pre-existing conditions so we can take note and inform coaches. The COVID screening only highlights new or unexplained symptoms.

  • Coaches & Cohorts: HISTORICAL FROM OUTDOOR 2020 PROGRAMMING: Please remember that unless specified, your coaches are NOT part of your athlete’s cohort, as they coach multiple teams and may be playing themselves in their own soccer cohort. They can choose to be masked, but if not must remain socially distanced during sessions. Please remind your children to respect boundaries and help our coaches maintain distance! They love your kids, but they have guidelines and expectations to follow
